Boss Move: Jim Irsay Sends Case Of PBR To Twitter Follower [Photos]

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 07:19 AM PDT

By now it’s clear that Colts’ owner Jim Irsay is the most engaged NFL owner using Twitter. The guy is well-known for his contests that have even gone as far as sending followers to the Super Bowl. But how cool would it be for an NFL owner to send you a case of beer, a signed letter containing a $100 bill and that sweet Colts 2-in-1 visor cap? Yes, Jim Irsay sent one follower a case of PBR this week. That’s the coolest hipster NFL move we’ve ever heard of.

Not that we want to ruin the fun, but Irsay seems to have taken a chance, under UPS or FedEx rules, for shipping beer.

UPS:

UPS provides service for other alcoholic beverages (beer and alcohol) on a contract basis only. For shipments containing beer or alcohol, shippers must enter into an approved UPS agreement for the transportation of beer or alcohol as applicable, must be licensed and authorized under applicable law to ship beer and alcohol, and may ship only to licensed consignees. UPS does not accept shipments of beer or alcohol for delivery to consumers. UPS accepts shipments of beer or alcohol only among and between selected states.

FedEx:

Only licensed entities may ship alcohol of any type with FedEx. For more information, go to fedex.com/us/wine. Consumers may not ship alcohol.

  1. Licensee to Licensee. FedEx will accept alcohol shipments (beer, wine and spirits) when both the shipper and recipient are either licensed wholesalers, licensed dealers, licensed distributors, licensed manufacturers or licensed importers, subject to additional requirements and all applicable laws and regulations. Contact your FedEx account executive for complete details.
  2. Licensee to Consumer. FedEx will accept wine shipments from licensed entities directly to consumers, subject to additional requirements and all applicable laws and regulations. Contact your FedEx account executive for complete details. Shipments of beer or spirits to consumers are prohibited.
  3. Alcoholic Beverages will not be accepted for shipment to Canadafrom the U.S.

Twitter user NVisionMarketin this week uploaded two photos of his haul for winning one of Jim’s crazy contests.

SHOUT OUT to @JimIrsay #IndyColts Boss for being a man of his word. Thx for hat, case of PBR & $100

Legit reason for opening a Twitter account or to just simply follow this guy? We say yes, just because dude will circumvent the shipping rules to award his Twitter followers. Boss move, indeed.

Nate Robinson Takes Leak In Public; Arrested [Cuff 'Em]

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 06:54 AM PDT

Nate Robinson’s bladder is in the news this weekend after a case of public urination early Friday morning. Yes, it’s friggin slow right now in the Cuff ‘Em department. After a crazy April and May for NFLers getting busted for a variety of reasons, we are now regulated to Nate Robinson taking a leak on a Barnes and Nobles in White Plains, NY.

The LoHud has the miniscule details:

The 5-foot-9 member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who has also played for the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. after cops said he was seen doing his business outside the Barnes & Noble store at 230 Main St.He was taken Police Headquarters where he was issued a ticket charging him with a public urination violation. Robinson was released on $100 bail and is due in City Court on June 22. The violation normally carries a $50 fine.

Seriously, the world of athletes getting popped really needs to pick up steam because $50 tickets for public urination aren’t going to move the pageview meter.

Time to step it up, boys. How about a public urination on a fellow player? Or maybe a naked athlete streaking while high on bath salts. Let’s get crazy.
